An Alabama boy, 10 years old, was killed in a horrific crash that left a family grieving for three months, authorities said Thursday.
The toddler was found unresponsive Saturday in the middle of a cul-de-sac in St. Clair County, about 30 miles southeast of Birmingham, and authorities said he died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
The St. Louis County Coroner’s Office said it has been investigating the crash since it occurred in a rural area in rural St. Charles County, where residents are often in close proximity to a road.
Officials have not released a suspect description but said they do not believe the driver was drunk.
Officials are working to determine the cause of the crash, but said there was no indication of foul play.
The driver has been arrested and is cooperating with authorities, St. Claire County Sheriff Scott Daugherty said in a statement.
